As you know Daddy Bo has a horrible and huge lump on his back leg which we were told to remove would be cosmetic as although it was a tumour it was on the outside and wouldn’t spread. However it’s now really affecting the way he walks and jumps up to his favourite sleeping place. I managed to raise the money for the initial operation of £400 just this week but I’m quite worried as now he’s started fainting.
He first fainted the evening that “his boy” Biscuit died and ran up the stairs looking for him, standing by our bedroom door. He let out a cry and when Andy ran up to see what was wrong he was laying on the floor. As soon as Andy approached he jumped up, looked at Andy as if he didn’t know what Andy was looking at and came back downstairs again. We called the vet he was registered with (that horrible vet who misdiagnosed my little Bubba Biscuit) and they said to keep an eye on him.
We had no more fainting until this last week. Friday last week at 4am he let out a cry and again seemed to pass out. No where was open and he was ok within 5 mins and he went back to sleep. Sunday night he did it again, cried, passed out and wet himself this time. He seems to come round pretty much straight away but today we’ve booked him in to see our new vet so they can check him over initially and find out what the fainting is about (I think it’s syncope but want to find out what’s causing it) and then find out if they recommend that he has the lump finally removed.
This is exactly what happens (taken from another user on youtube):
I mean I know he’s fairly elderly but he’s still really energetic and feisty so I’d love him to feel a lot more comfortable and not have to keep licking the lump every time it weeps as he can spend that time playing instead.
Anyway, I will keep you posted.
