Well today was a big day for Pea as it was his 2nd lots of injections. He wasn’t that happy about getting up early this morning, neither was Hudad to be honest as we didn’t manage to get to sleep until pretty late because Pea thought it was hilarious to run up and down under the duvet in between us for around an hour before he would settle down. Oh the joys of having a puppy!
Today was the first day of using his brand new harness. The previous Ancol harness although it was good it just didn’t look comfy enough for Pea as he kept wriggling out of it when he was in the car, so I purchased the new updated Ancol Padded Nylon Dog Harness in small (although I have a feeling the rate he’s growing the medium will be ordered in the next few weeks) which fits him perfectly without gaping at the neck.
He doesn’t particularly like travelling in the car as each time he’s been in the car he’s gone to the vets, although when he was there he did get lots of treats from the vet nurse as she adores Cocker Spaniels – and who could blame her as they’re just so loving. But when he goes in to see the vet he shakes for a little while, then settles down. Bit like someone who has white coat syndrome I guess.
The lovely vet (same guy as he previously saw – sorry for the photo, Hudad took it) gave him a cuddle to start with, then weighed him (he’s put on a little bit since the last visit) which you can tell because his anchor coat is getting a tiny bit tighter on him. Then he had his 2nd lot of vaccinations. He’s been really good with his injections so hopefully if he ever needs treatment, he’ll be as brave as he has been so far.
So, now there’s a week to wait until we get to take Pea out for his first walk with Shelby (she’s near enough his size and we don’t want to scare him by taking him out with Vag as she can get a little boisterous when she’s out) and it will hopefully help with getting them together as a pack and get him integrated properly.
