Pea was in his element this week as we got our first Barkbeats Box! He was the first to run over to me when I placed it on the bed to open and had his nose firmly pressed against it while I removed the bag and the tape to spy what was inside it for our £14.90.
We (or rather the furries got)
- Tin of Pooch & Mutt Feel Good Treats
- Bag of Pedigree Chicken and Cheese Mini Bites
- Bag of Armitage Good Boy Choc Drops
- 1 Arquizoo Flasher Tag
- 1 Kong Air Dog Squeaky Toy
Pea’s head was straight in the box when I pulled it open and he dragged out (with the backing card) the Kong Air Dog. This is a rugby ball shaped squeaky toy with a felt outer. It only took a few minutes for the felt to be ripped though as Pea is at present destroying everything that we give him. When I got the toy out from his paws and cut away the backing he grabbed it with both paws and started chewing away merrily removing as much of the felt as he could.
The Flasher tag will also be super useful with Pea as he can use it when Andy takes him out for a walk. We used to use one of them a few years back with Shelby as she used to love to hide from us in our (at the time) overgrown garden. She can’t do that anymore since we had the garden patio laid so just had her cowbell (as Andy so eloquently puts it) on her collar so we can hear where she is. But as Pea has now started to love his walks with his Hudad (he went through a phase last week of lying down on his tummy refusing to move) if they go out in the evening he can wear that.
We already have a dog basket (which I got at Christmas for Biscuit) which we have full of treats for them and generally I buy dog chocs every month for them (apart from the puppy) so getting one in this box has actually saved me money buying them for the furries this month. The only one that isn’t keen on them is Daddy Bo as he’s pretty picky in what treats he eats. He did however love the Pooch & Mutt Feel Good Treats as they are small enough for his tiny mouth and he loves the flavour. He needs something to make him feel good at the moment as we’re saving to have his lump on his leg removed so he’s still a bit of a grumpy boy. Also doesn’t help that Little Pea thinks it’s funny at the moment to bite their tails when they walk away from him and then doesn’t listen when they tell him to stop.
The Chicken and Cheese Bites went down well with Ali and Vag so Andy decided to use them for when they go out for a walk with Little Pea as they never listen to him when he asks them to sit at the kerb so a little treat might well encourage that.
This box is superb, in fact I’m quite interested to get a subscription for 6 months once I’ve paid for Daddy Bo’s operation, to give them all something special once a month which is a bit different and to give me something to look forward to opening with them.
If you fancy trying a Barkbeats box there’s a £5 code on their website to use or use JUST5 at the checkout for a small discount. Your fur babies will love you forever for it (not as if they don’t already though).
